Victim Services of Sarnia Lambton offers support to victims of crime and tragic circumstance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Volunteers are an integral part of the team and essential in delivery of service to all clients. Volunteers contribute their unique talents, skills, and knowledge of our community to provide personalized attention and assistance to victims of crime or tragic circumstance.

Responsibilities
Respond immediately to a call throughout the duration of your shift
Provide short-term emotional support and practical assistance including answering questions and providing information that will help lessen the impact of victimization
Identify long-term needs by responding to victim’s concerns and supply the victim with appropriate options and referrals to services
Report to the staff on-call
Complete an occurrence report following the completion of the call
Attend regularly scheduled training meetings
Commitment of a minimum one (1) year volunteering
Schedule a minimum of 2 shifts per month in advance through an online database
Complete a total of 40 hours mandated government training
